Reviews and Ahead

Weekly to yearly retrospectives, the forward-looking "Ahead" that opens each period, and how they reach you.

Days compound, but you rarely stop to notice. Reviews are where Blue does that noticing with you — a look back as each stretch of time closes, and a look forward as the next one opens.

Two halves of every cycle

Each cadence comes in a pair:

  • The Review — a retrospective Blue writes as the period ends. What happened, what moved, what you circled back to, what it seemed to mean.
  • The Ahead — a forward-looking companion that opens the next period. Not a plan imposed on you, but intentions drawn from where the last one left off.

So a week isn't just reviewed on Sunday; a Week Ahead greets you on Monday.

The cadences and when they fire

Reviews run on your local clock, at period boundaries:

  • Weekly Review — Sunday evening; Week Ahead — Monday morning.
  • Monthly Review — the last day of the month; Month Ahead — the 1st.
  • Quarterly and yearly cycles land at the turn of the season and the turn of the year.

They're activity-gated, which is deliberate: Blue won't hand you a weekly review of a week you weren't here for. Roughly, the weekly needs activity in the last week, the monthly in the last month, and the longer cycles want a correspondingly longer runway before they generate. A quiet stretch simply means that review waits.

How a review reaches you

When a review is ready, it doesn't just sit in a tab. Blue fans it out several ways at once:

  • an email,
  • a message to your primary messenger (Telegram, WhatsApp, or Discord, if connected),
  • an entry in the app, and
  • Blue opening a chat about it — Blue starts the conversation already holding the whole review, so you can react to it in your own words instead of reading in silence.

You can also open the Reviews tab any time to read past ones.

On the plans

Reviews are a Plus and Pro surface — weekly and monthly retrospectives are a core part of both. The longer quarterly and yearly cycles come into their own the deeper your history with Blue goes; if you're on Free or a lapsed trial, review generation pauses, though everything already written stays readable.

Getting the most from them

A review is a conversation starter, not a verdict. The moment Blue opens that chat is the useful part — that's when you can say "the win you flagged didn't feel like a win" or "next week I only want to focus on one thing." Blue tends your Life Vision from exactly these moments, so an honest reply to a review quietly shapes what Blue understands you're moving toward.
