Apple Health

Connecting Apple Health on iPhone (Pro): read only, daily summaries only, a switch per metric, a Health card on Today, and what disconnecting deletes.

Blue can see a daily summary of your health data from your iPhone, so a conversation about energy or sleep has the numbers in it. It is read only, it is on iPhone, and it is a Pro feature.

Connecting

Open the Blue app on your iPhone, go to Integrations, then Apps, and tap Connect on the Health card. iOS asks which health data Blue may read. Allow what you want shared, and the phone starts preparing daily summaries.

What syncs

The phone computes one summary per day and sends only that. The metrics:

  • Steps
  • Active energy
  • Workouts
  • Sleep
  • Heart rate
  • Heart rate variability (HRV)
  • Mindful minutes

Each metric has its own switch, so you can share sleep and steps and keep heart rate to yourself. Raw readings never leave the phone; only the daily summaries sync.

Read only

Blue reads. It never writes anything back to Apple Health. Nothing you say to Blue, and nothing Blue concludes, changes a record in Health.

Where it shows up

When Health is connected, a Health card appears on your Today page, and Blue can bring the day's numbers into chat when they are relevant: a short night before a hard day, a week without a workout.

Disconnecting

Disconnect from the same card. Syncing stops either way, and the disconnect dialog also offers "Disconnect & delete synced data", which removes the summaries already synced to your account so nothing from Health remains in Blue.

Privacy

Health summaries are part of your Blue data: encrypted in transit and at rest, never sold, and not used to train models beyond your own experience with Blue. Deleting your account erases them with everything else, at once. See Privacy and your data.

Android

On Android, when the app arrives, Health Connect takes the place of Apple Health with the same read-only daily summaries.

The tier

Apple Health is part of Pro. During the 14-day trial you have full access. If a trial lapses to Free, the Health card and Blue's read of your summaries pause until you upgrade. The summaries already synced stay in your account unless you delete them from the card.
