Connecting Notion

Setup, what Blue can read and write in your workspace, and why changes can take up to 30 minutes to appear (Pro).

Connect Notion and Blue can read and write in your workspace — pulling from a database you keep, or writing notes and pages when you ask. Blue acting on Notion is a Pro feature.

Connecting

Open Integrations and choose Notion. On the web, Integrations lives in the header menu rather than the main navigation; on mobile it's a screen you open from settings. You'll authorize Blue through Notion's own sign-in and choose which databases Blue should have access to. Notion only shares what you explicitly grant, and you can disconnect at any time.

What Blue can do

Once connected, you work through conversation — Blue does the clicking:

  • Read pages and the databases you shared
  • Create and update pages
  • Add and edit entries in your databases
  • Build out page content — headings, lists, and other blocks

So you can say "add this to my reading list" or "pull up my notes on the Q3 plan" and Blue handles it.

Sync is slower here — plainly

Notion doesn't offer Blue a live update feed the way Google Calendar and Todoist do, so Blue works by polling on a schedule. In practice, a change you make in Notion can take 15 to 30 minutes to reach Blue. This is expected behavior, not a fault — if you edit a page in Notion and immediately ask Blue about it, it may still see the old version. Give it a little time and it will catch up.

The tier, plainly

Blue reading and acting on Notion is part of Pro. On Free and Plus, Blue can't work with your workspace — its Notion tools only load on Pro. While your 14-day Pro trial runs you have full access; if it lapses to Free, Blue stops acting on connected apps, though your connection stays saved for whenever you upgrade.

If something isn't syncing even after 30 minutes, see Troubleshooting common issues.
