Troubleshooting common issues

What to check when Blue is slow to reply, a proactive message doesn't arrive, or a connected app stops syncing.

Most hiccups come down to a schedule setting, a connection, or a sync window. Here's what to check before you reach out.

Blue is slow or not replying

Blue's replies stream in a word at a time, so a short pause before the first word is normal — it's thinking, not stuck. If a reply never lands:

  • Check your connection. In the app or web portal, replies stream live, so a dropped connection can leave a message hanging. Refresh the page or reopen the app.
  • Try sending again. If you fired off several messages quickly, Blue waits a few seconds to gather them before answering — that's deliberate, not a freeze.
  • If you're on Free, remember conversation is capped at 15 messages a day. Once you hit it, wait for the window to roll over.

If replies are consistently blank or erroring, that's worth reporting — see below.

A proactive message didn't arrive

Blue's morning message, guidance, reminders, and reviews all fire against your schedule, so the first thing to check is that schedule:

  • Wake, bed, and timezone. These live in your profile settings and drive every timed message. A wrong timezone is the most common reason things arrive at odd hours or seem to go missing. See Notifications and your Rhythms.
  • Notification preferences. Make sure the message type you're missing is switched on, and that push notifications are allowed for the app on your device.
  • A connected messenger. This is the big one. Reminders and Blue's replies to messages you started on the web are delivered to your primary messenger — Telegram, WhatsApp, or Discord. If you haven't connected one, those can quietly go nowhere, with no email fallback. If you rely on reminders, connect a messenger and set it as primary. See Telegram, WhatsApp, and Discord.

One more thing that's working as intended: if you've been quiet for several days, Blue eases off its proactive messages rather than piling up unread nudges. Send a message and it picks the rhythm back up.

A connected app stopped syncing

Connected apps don't update the instant you change something — each has its own sync window, and some lag is expected:

  • Google Calendar — usually near real-time, and at most about 30 minutes behind.
  • Todoist — around 20 minutes.
  • Notion — 15 to 30 minutes. Notion has no live push, so changes there are the slowest to appear. This is normal; give it half an hour.

If a connection seems fully stuck rather than just slow, disconnect and reconnect it from the Integrations screen to refresh its access.

Still stuck?

If none of that helps, contact us. Tell us what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead — a real person reads every message.
