Reactions, replies, and unread messages
Reacting to a message with an emoji, Blue answering with a reaction, tapping a quoted reply to jump, and the New line and badge for what arrived while you were away.
A conversation with Blue has the small gestures of any chat: a reaction instead of a sentence, a reply that points at what it answers, and a marker for what you have not read yet.
Reactions
Long-press a message to react with an emoji. Reactions sit on the message, and Blue sees them. React to something Blue said with a heart and Blue knows it landed; react with a frown and Blue knows that too, without you writing a sentence about it.
Blue reacting back
Blue may answer a short message with just a reaction. A "thanks", an "ok" or a line of good news does not always need a paragraph back, so Blue sometimes reacts the way a friend would. Blue can also react and reply in the same turn: a reaction on your message and a written answer under it.
Replies that point at a message
When a message answers an earlier one, it carries a quote of what it answers. Tap the quote and the thread jumps to that message, so you can see the context without scrolling. It makes long days easier to follow, and it pairs with the history drawer, where a search hit opens the message inside its past thread.
The New line and the unread badge
When messages arrived while you were away, a "New" line in the thread marks where you left off, and an unread badge shows how many are waiting. Tap the badge and the thread jumps to the next unread message. This is where Blue's own messages (the morning message, a check-in, a reminder) show up when you open the app later.
Saving a message
Long-press also lets you save a message. Saved messages live in the Saved tab of the history drawer, next to Chats, so a line worth keeping is one tap away later. See How Blue's memory works for the drawer and search.
Discussing something specific
Beyond the chat, an orb on each section of your Today page, on each Vision element and on each review period opens the chat with that item as the starting point. It is the same idea as a reply quote, pointed at the rest of Blue instead of at a message.
Where this works
Reactions, reply jumps, the New line and the badge are in the web app, the iPhone app and the Mac app, on every plan.
