How Blue's memory works
One continuous thread, the nightly distillation at 4am, and what each plan remembers (Free: 30 days; Plus/Pro: everything).
Most AI chat resets every time you open it. Blue is built the other way around: memory is the product. Here's how it actually works.
One conversation, always
You and Blue share a single ongoing conversation — not a pile of separate chats. Whether you're typing on the web, in the mobile app, or from Telegram, WhatsApp, or Discord, it's the same thread and the same memory. You can mention something on your phone at lunch and pick it up from your laptop that evening without re-explaining anything.
The 4am switchover
Each night around 4am your local time, the day's thread quietly closes and a fresh one opens. You'll never see this happen — there's no announcement — but it's when Blue does its most important work. Overnight, Blue:
- Summarizes the day into its long-term memory
- Prepares tomorrow's Today guidance (Plus and Pro)
- Tends your Life Vision (Plus and Pro)
- Updates your Living Profile (Pro)
So each day's conversation compounds into something durable rather than scrolling away.
How far back Blue remembers
This is the honest tier difference:
- Free — Blue's working memory reaches back 30 days.
- Plus and Pro — memory is persistent. Blue can draw on everything you've ever shared.
Recent days always get the most weight — today's conversation is never trimmed to make room — and older material is carried forward as distilled summaries, so what mattered stays present without the noise.
Recall works on every plan
Beyond that rolling context, Blue can search its memory of you when something specific comes up — "what did I say about my sister's visit?" works on every plan, including Free. Continuity is core to Blue, not a premium add-on. The tier difference is the everyday working window, not whether Blue can look things up.
Correcting the record
If Blue has something wrong, say so in chat — plainly, like you would with a person. Conversation corrections take effect right away in how Blue talks with you. One caveat worth knowing: if the mistake has made it into your Living Profile, the fix lands on the profile during a later nightly pass rather than instantly — see Your Living Profile for why.
Downgrading never erases anything
If you move from a paid plan to Free, Blue's day-to-day working memory narrows to the 30-day window — but nothing is deleted. Your history, Persona, and Vision stay intact and readable, and if you upgrade again, the full depth of memory is simply there waiting. See Managing your subscription for the details.
