Connecting Todoist
Setup, what Blue can do with your tasks, projects, and labels, and sync timing (Pro).
Connect Todoist and Blue can see your tasks and act on them for you — capturing something you mention in conversation, tidying a project, or telling you what's actually due today. Blue acting on Todoist is a Pro feature.
Connecting
Open Integrations and choose Todoist. On the web, Integrations lives in the header menu rather than the main navigation; on mobile it's a screen you reach from settings. You'll authorize Blue through Todoist's own sign-in, and that's it — no keys to copy. You can disconnect whenever you like.
What Blue can read
Blue pulls a full picture of your Todoist so it can answer questions without you opening the app:
- Your projects, sections, and labels
- Tasks that are due today or overdue
- Your highest-priority items
- A search across your tasks, and a summary of your overall workload
So you can ask "what's overdue?" or "what should I focus on today?" and get a real answer.
What Blue can write
Blue doesn't just read. In chat, you can ask it to:
- Add, complete, update, or delete tasks
- Create and organize projects and sections
- Add or change labels
You steer all of this through conversation — there's no separate task screen inside Blue.
How quickly changes sync
Blue receives updates from Todoist through a webhook, so tasks you change elsewhere usually reach Blue quickly, and a background sync sweeps roughly every 20 minutes as a safety net. If something looks out of date, give it a few minutes.
The tier, plainly
Blue reading and acting on Todoist is part of Pro. On Free and Plus, Blue can't work with your tasks — its Todoist tools only load on Pro. While your 14-day Pro trial runs you have full access; if it lapses to Free, Blue stops acting on connected apps, though your connection stays saved for whenever you upgrade.
If a task change isn't showing up, see Troubleshooting common issues.
