Managing your subscription
Upgrading and downgrading, billing on web (Stripe) vs mobile (app store), and what happens to your data on any plan.
You can change your plan whenever you like. The one thing to know up front: where you manage billing depends on where you subscribed.
Web vs app-store billing
If you subscribed on the web, your payment runs through Stripe. Go to Account → Subscription and open the billing portal to change plans, switch between monthly and yearly, update your card, or cancel.
If you subscribed on iOS or Android, the purchase is handled by Apple or Google — not by us directly. Manage it through your app store's subscriptions (the deep-link in the Account screen takes you there). Cancellations and refunds for app-store purchases follow the store's rules, so they have to be done in the store, not in Blue.
A good rule of thumb: manage a subscription in the same place you started it.
Upgrading
Upgrade any time from Account → Subscription or the Upgrade screen. On the web you check out through Stripe; on mobile, through your app store. An upgrade takes effect right away — Blue's new capabilities unlock as soon as the plan changes.
Downgrading and canceling
You can move to a lower plan, or cancel, from the same place. When you downgrade or your subscription ends, your account moves to the plan you chose (or to Free) — there's no lockout.
Nothing is deleted when you downgrade
This is the important reassurance: downgrading never erases what Blue has built. Your conversation history, your Life Vision, and your Persona (the Living Profile Blue assembled) all stay readable. What changes is what Blue can actively do going forward:
- Memory narrows to the last 30 days on Free
- Today, Reviews, and nightly Living Profile tending pause below their plan
- Blue stops acting on connected apps like Calendar, Todoist, and Notion
Your connections and everything Blue learned stay saved. If you upgrade again later, Blue simply picks back up where it left off — nothing to rebuild.
