Open items and bringing things across
Something to figure out, Open for me and Settled for me, unpacking an item in your room and bringing back where you stand, From my room, and two accounts of one moment.
Not everything in a relationship is settled. The record has a place for what is still open, and a way to think about it alone and come back with where you stand.
Something to figure out
An open item is a kind in the record called "Something to figure out". It exists without anyone confirming it. The guide proposes one when something is unresolved, or you add one yourself. A thing nobody owns is an open item, not a commitment.
Open for me, Settled for me
Each person marks the item Open for me or Settled for me. The item counts as settled only when every active member's latest mark is settled. Everyone sees each person's status, and Our mirror lists the open items under "What you're working through".
Unpack this in my room
On an open item, "Unpack this in my room" takes you into your private room with the item already in front of the guide. Think it through there. Nobody in the space sees any of it.
When you have found where you stand, the guide can offer to bring that back. It shows your words, in your own phrasing, and you can edit them. Nothing moves until you tap Bring it.
What comes back
What you bring lands at the bottom of the shared thread as a new entry: "your name brought where they stand". A "Continued from" link scrolls to the original item, and the guide picks it up from there. Unpacking is never gated by payment; bringing back needs paid access to the space.
From my room
Beside the shared composer sits From my room. It looks through your own private room and your marked map items and offers two or three exact dated sentences of yours to bring in. You can edit them before sending. It never offers another member's words, and it never offers anything you have not already said.
Where I stand, and Add a note
On a card in the shared room you can type "Where I stand" or "Add a note" directly, without going through the guide.
Two accounts of one moment
When two people tell one moment differently, the guide sets out each person's account from that person's own quotes only. Each of you sees your own account with "That's mine" or "Not quite". Nobody edits another member's account, and the guide does not pick one.
Where this shows up
Open items appear as cards in the thread, in the Record section of Our mirror, and in "Where do we stand?" answers, which say whether each item has moved and when. See Visions and Where do we stand.
An item marked settled by everyone stays in the record with its dated history, including every mark that led there.
