You do not need your partner's permission, participation, or even awareness to begin: your private room is a complete product by itself, a place to vent, sort out what you actually feel, and work on your side of the pattern, with a companion that listens.
If and when your partner is ready, you invite them by email; they get their own private room, just as sealed as yours, and the shared space opens between you. There is no deadline on this. Some people invite a partner in the first week; some use the solo room for months first; either is a real way to use HeartWeave.
Three plain facts for the solo start: the private room is free to start, no card, 15 messages a day; activating is $99 a month for one seat (the one plan); and nothing you said alone gets exposed if a partner joins later. The privacy rules that protect your room are the same from day one.
