Sessions into the record

Uploading a recording or pasting a transcript, consent from everyone first, naming the voices, what the guide proposes, and deleting the audio or the transcript.

A session with a counselor, or a conversation you recorded together, can go into the record. Nothing is read until everyone in the space has agreed, and what comes out is tied to the words each person said.

Adding a session

Open the Sessions section of Our mirror and tap "Add a session". Three ways in:

  • Upload a recording, up to 600 MB. Over 90 MB it goes up in pieces.
  • Paste a transcript. Lines that start with a name and a colon keep who said what.
  • Save as a session on a Listen together card. See Voice, photos and files.

Your counselor can upload a session from their page too, with the same consent step.

Everyone agrees first

A consent card lands in the shared thread with "I agree" and "Not this one" for each member, and a push says "Something to agree to in" your space. Nothing is transcribed or read until every active member has agreed. If anyone taps "Not this one", the audio is deleted for everyone.

Naming the voices

Once everyone agrees, each member taps "This is me" on their own voice. Any voice left over gets "This was our counselor" or "Someone else", with a name if you want one.

What the guide proposes

One pass proposes entries in the space's kinds, each with verified quotes from the speaker whose words they are:

  • Dated events
  • Commitments, with the speaker as owner
  • A plan, if a horizon was spoken
  • Open items
  • Two accounts, where two people told one moment differently
  • Suggestions, from a counselor's voice

Every entry says "from your session on" its date. You Confirm, Edit or Decline them like any proposal. See The record.

A suggestion is never confirmable. If you want to take it on, "Take this on" makes it your own commitment, in your own words.

Deleting

"Delete audio" keeps the transcript and the entries. "Delete transcript" keeps the entries only. Either can be done after the session has landed.

What costs

Sessions need paid access to the space. See The one plan. Session recordings have their own cap of 600 MB, separate from the 100 MB cap on audio messages.

Where the audio goes

The providers that process audio, documents and the guide's writing are named on the "How we handle your data" screen in Account, with the date you agreed. See Privacy and your data.

Your counselor, if you have one, sees the sessions in the record alongside the confirmed entries, with the date of each.
